A beautiful rectangular, unglazed bonsai pot, crafted by the prestigious Japanese kiln Kisen Ikkoudou in Tokoname. It features a repair on the rim made with metallic paint that mimics the kintsugi technique, delicately evoking a gold finish.
Koie Kiyokazu was founded in 1934. Initially, the company did not manufacture bonsai pots; it wasn't until 1954 that they began producing them. Throughout its history, they have worked with both slab and mold-made pieces, using electric and gas kilns. However, their preferred method is firing pots in a gas kiln with a reducing atmosphere, due to the rich nuances achieved in the colors. For this, they use purple clay imported from China, as well as local clay from Tokoname.
