In this section you can find everything you need to accompany your bonsai in an exhibition, be it in your association, at home or in the best competitions in the world such as the Trophy (Belgium) or the Kokufu Bonsai Ten (Japan).

A bonsai should only be entered in a competition when it is at its best and in addition to recreating the image of a miniature tree, it should convey a set of sensations. To achieve this, a series of elements can help us, some of which are essential, such as the table on which the tree is placed, and others that depend on the creativity and imagination of the amateur, such as tenpais (bronze figurines), kakemonos (paintings or calligraphies that are hung vertically), kusamonos and shitakusa (companion plants), etc.

All of these can form part of a tokonoma, which is a small raised Japanese-style space with a tatami floor where bonsai arrangements, ikebana, suiseki and essential elements of traditional Japanese decoration can be displayed.

The most important thing to keep in mind when creating a composition is that the elements accompanying the bonsai should highlight some characteristic of the bonsai and bring a sense of harmony.

In this section of our website, you can also find a wide variety of oriental decoration items, such as vintage kimonos, kakemono-paintings, Japanese antiques of all kinds, various ceramics and also very kawaii modern items.
