Bonsai pot JTA7990 GYOZAN YUKIZOU

A beautiful bonsai pot with incised decoration of pines and birds. Rectangular, unglazed, and with a choho-bachi lip, it is signed by Yukizou Nakano and crafted from Akebono clay. It features a gaku-iri or gaku-men style frame. The term gaku refers to the "frame" visible on the body of the piece, while iri means "interior," creating an elegant framed effect that adds depth and distinction to the design. It also has characteristic drainage holes, a hallmark of the kiln. Handmade and signed by Gyozan. Tokoname.
