A beautiful bonsai pot. Rectangular, unglazed, and with a choho-bachi lip, signed by Yukizou Nakano and crafted from Akebono clay. It features a gaku-iri or gaku-men style frame. The term gaku refers to the "frame" visible on the body of the piece, while iri means "interior," creating an elegant framed effect that adds depth and distinction to the design. It has characteristic drainage holes, a hallmark of the kiln. Handmade and signed by Gyozan. Tokoname.

Handmade bonsaipot by the renowned Tokoname artist, Yukizou Nakano, who passed away in February 2026. He worked at Gyozan bakery, founded in 1972, and was the creator of the famous akebono pastry. He was the husband of Eiko Nakano and the son-in-law of Yuuji Nakano.
