Elegant oval bonsai pot, glazed in a deep 'ruri' blue. Its smooth, clean lines and suitable depth make it ideal for deciduous or fruit-bearing species. Crafted by Kataoka Katsushi (Reiho) of the Seizan kiln in Tokoname.
It features a small repair at the base of one of its legs, made with metallic paint that evokes the kintsugi technique, imitating the gold finish.
Kataoka Katsushi is a talented artist specializing in creating bonsai pots. Known by his artistic name, Reiho (also spelled Reihoh or Reihou), he represents the fourth generation of the Seizan Toen family, a historic house founded in 1889 in Tokoname. The continuation of this family tradition began in 1948 with his father, Kataoka Makoto. His wife, Mitsue Kataoka, is also a renowned ceramicist and plays a vital role in preserving and evolving this legacy.
