An elegant vintage pot, which imitates the ancient forms of Nakawatari and Kowatari pots, crafted by Hanno Souhei at the Senkouen kiln in Tokoname. The fineness of its clay and the patina acquired over time speak volumes about the quality and classicism of its design. It has a slight imperfection on the rim, repaired with metallic paint in a kintsugi style, reminiscent of traditional gold repairs.
Hanno Souhei, born in 1940, developed his career as a researcher in the field of ceramics, collaborating with various workshops and specialized centers. In 1961, he spent a year in-depth studying raw materials and glazes at the experimental engineering laboratory of the Nagoya National Research Institute. This formative period proved decisive and significantly influenced his approach to ceramic production in subsequent years. In 1977, he began wholesale production, adopting "Senkouen" as his brand name. Since then, Hanno Souhei has remained the company's main technical expert, based in Tokoname.
