An unglazed hexagonal bonsai pot, exuding elegance and understated sophistication. It features a gaku-iri or gaku-men motif, where gaku refers to the visible "frame" on the body of the piece, while iri means "interior," creating a refined framing effect that lends depth and distinction to the design. The piece is completed with a decorative raimon-iri incision, a motif incorporating the thunder symbol (raimon), applied as an ornamental detail. Made and stamped by Toshio Kataoka , Tokoname.

El horno Yamaaki fue fundado en 1920, lo que lo convierte en uno de los talleres contemporáneos más antiguos de Tokoname. Su fundador, Akiji Kataoka, estableció las bases de una tradición cerámica que perduraría durante generaciones. Tras su fallecimiento en 1990, sus hijos, Sadamitsu Kataoka (conocido artísticamente como Koshōsen) y Toshio Kataoka continuaron con la actividad del horno familiar. Akiji Kataoka firmaba sus obras con el nombre artístico Jūōdō (Juodo) Shōsen, aunque es más conocido simplemente como Shōsen.
