Antique hexagonal bonsai pot with an open lip, richly decorated in the Sometsuke style and marked by Teizan in Seto. Sometsuke is a traditional Japanese technique for decorating ceramics and porcelain that uses cobalt blue pigment (gosu) to hand-paint designs on a white base, creating the classic "blue and white" style that evokes elegance and simplicity, popular in everyday tableware and artistic pieces.
Second generation of the Teizan house, founded in Seto by Teizan Shinano (品野貞山), a kiln renowned for its molded pots with dragon decorations and for its pieces with sometsuke-style prints.
