Square bonsai pot of originating from Mie (Kansai). It features delicate decoration with landscape motifs. Its corners—sharp, straight, and angular, known as kittate—give it a strong sense of solidity and character.
Kyuzan is a mark of controversial attribution. It frequently appears in catalogs linked to the Bunzan kiln in Seto; however, we have never observed this mark at that establishment nor have we received any piece from Bunzan that bears it. Other sources place this kiln in the Mie region and note that the name can be transcribed either as Kyuzan or Bunzan.
