An elegant rectangular bonsai pot, or choho-bachi, faithfully evoking the classic forms of ancient kowatari. It is distinguished by the understated band (himo) that runs along its base, lending balance and character to the piece. Handmade by Yukizou Nakano, Gyozan, Tokoname. It is crafted from Akebono clay in one of its darkest shades, enhancing its chromatic depth and underscoring its refined and timeless presence.
Handmade bonsaipot by the renowned Tokoname artist, Yukizou Nakano, who passed away in February 2026. He worked at Gyozan bakery, founded in 1972, and was the creator of the famous akebono pastry. He was the husband of Eiko Nakano and the son-in-law of Yuuji Nakano.
