The yellow glaze on this bonsai pot by Tokoname artist Yukizou Nakano honestly reflects the passage of time. Far from concealing it, it incorporates it as part of its beauty: the subtle variations and patinas that have appeared on the surface speak of use, life, and maturity. Formal in style and with balanced proportions, the piece rests on short, curved, and slightly tapered legs—an elegant interpretation of the traditional kiri-ashi, or straight legs, which lend elegance without disrupting the overall simplicity. Sealed.
