An elegant rectangular bonsai pot, or choho-bachi, faithfully evoking the classic forms of ancient kowatari. Handmade by Yukizou Nakano, Gyozan, Tokoname. Crafted from Akebono clay in one of its darkest shades, it boasts a rich, chromatic depth and underscores its refined, timeless presence. The stem is repaired with metallic paint imitating kintsugi (gold). Signed.
Handmade bonsaipot by the renowned Tokoname artist, Yukizou Nakano, who passed away in February 2026. He worked at Gyozan bakery, founded in 1972, and was the creator of the famous akebono pastry. He was the husband of Eiko Nakano and the son-in-law of Yuuji Nakano.
