Beautiful bonsai pot. Rectangular, unglazed. Its sharp, straight, and angular corners, known as kittate, lend a sense of robustness, accentuated by a band between the lip and the foot, called an obi-iri. Signed by Yukizou Nakano and made of Akebono clay. It features characteristic drainage holes, a hallmark of the kiln. Handmade and signed by Gyozan. Tokoname. Signed
Handmade bonsaipot by the renowned Tokoname artist, Yukizou Nakano, who passed away in February 2026. He worked at Gyozan bakery, founded in 1972, and was the creator of the famous akebono pastry. He was the husband of Eiko Nakano and the son-in-law of Yuuji Nakano.
