Toshun was a historic kiln in Tokoname, now defunct, renowned for the excellence of its creations. Its pieces, made with high-quality clay and fired at high temperatures, are notable for their remarkable hardness and lightness. It is also especially recognized for the delicate relief crab carvings that adorn the bodies of its pots.
