The shape of this bonsai pot is known as shami-do, a term that literally means "shami-sen shaped," referring to a traditional Japanese stringed instrument. The lip finish is an original design by the artist, while the legs have a straight cut, known as kiri-ashi. Handmade from akebono clay by Yuuji Nakano (Gyozan kiln, Tokoname). The piece is stamped by the artist.
